The Ministry of Labor has announced when Russians will rest in 2027: New Year holidays will stretch to 11 days?

The main detail is that the New Year holidays will last 11 days: from December 31, 2026, to January 10, 2027. This schedule is formed due to the transfer of weekends, which the Russian government annually approves to more evenly distribute working time and rest.

The ministry also reported that in 2027, Russians will have five periods of rest for three consecutive days. These are the weekends from February 21 to 23, March 6 to 8, twice in May — from the 1st to 3rd and from the 8th to 10th, as well as from June 12 to 14. In addition, long weekends are expected from November 4 to 7.

The Ministry of Labor emphasizes that transferring weekends is necessary for convenient planning of working and holiday dates throughout the year. In practice, this allows for advance assessment of how short weeks, vacation periods, and dates for business trips or family vacations will be distributed.
