Russia surpasses Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland

In our country, the overwhelming majority of women aged 30–54 are employed. In Germany, this figure is much lower. In the 20–44 age group, Russian women surpass women in the Czech Republic.

Among those aged 60–64, more than 35% of women in Russia are working, while in Poland the figure is only 28%.

Not a choice, but a necessity

However, this “workaholism” is far from a personal choice for Russian women. It is often a forced measure: they have to raise children, help their parents, and sometimes even be the sole breadwinner in the family...

Moreover, in other countries women can afford to retire earlier.

“Do you know people in our country who could afford not to work but still do? We know them literally by name,” Tsargrad notes.
